Buttercream Frosting
A very basic buttercream frosting - no eggs, no heating required!
0.5 c (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted 4 tbsp heavy cream 1 tsp vanilla |
Cream butter in the bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk until light and fluffy.
Slowly beat in powdered sugar in small batches - it will fly everywhere! Add cream and vanilla and beat on high until light and fluffy. Optional: Replace the whisk with the paddle attachment and beat for a few seconds to get rid of air bubbles. |
