Vegan Chocolate Cake
This is a recipe that I got from my friend Liz, who makes it all the time for her more health conscious friends (as well as her vegan friends). It is a moist and succulent cake - not at all like what I thought a vegan cake would be!
1 1/2 c flour
1 cup sugar 7 T cocoa powder 1/2 t salt 1 t baking soda 1 cup water 1/3 cup oil 1 t vanilla 1T vinegar ( I use red wine because it gives it a nice reddish undertone, but any will do) |
Set oven to 350°.
*blend dry ingredients *pour in wet ingredients and whisk until smooth Pour in to greased, floured 9 inch round cake pan. ( I use a cheesecake pan) Bake for 35 min at 350˚ |
