"Normal" dinner salad
This is my staple salad, the only one I really made for many years. Since then, I've been exploring alternate salads, but this is the one I started with.
1 head read leaf lettuce
2 bell peppers (not green)
8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegene)
1. Rip the lettuce into bite sized pieces and wash thoroughly. Dry with a salad spinner. (No one likes grit in their teeth!)
2. Chop the apples into small chunks. Do the same with the peppers. Add to the lettuce.
3. Cut the mozzarella balls in half. Sprinkle over salad.
4. Serve with vinaigrette on the side!
When feeling adventurous, I add carrots and cucumbers, even sometimes candied walnuts.
