Peggy Cake aka The Birthday Cake
This is the LEGENDARY Peggy cake, staple and standard of the Seidel family, requested and required at every birthday - and then some!

Serves 12-16
|
1 German chocolate cake mix (I use Duncan Hines with pudding in the mix)
1 small box instant chocolate pudding 4 eggs 1 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla extract 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Mix all ingredients adding chips last.
Grease and flour a bundt pan. Add cake dough. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes. Make sure toothpick inserted in crack of cake comes out clean upon testing. Rest cake in pan for 5 min. Turn out on cooling rack. When cool, dust with powdered sugar. Can substitute cake mix with yellow cake and/or can substitute pudding with butterscotch. |
